Howard & Cheryl Shouse believe that nothing is done without someone
praying. SOGL volunteers pray the first Friday of each month at
River of Life Chiropractic Center for the city of Erie during SOGL
PrayErie monthly prayer meeting. Please join us & call us for further
details. We are thankful for prayer teams representing many
area churches who provide prayer coverage for all Shares of God’s Love
events/ministry.
SOGL representatives have been on the National Day of Prayer committee
for the last two years as they plan the yearly Spring prayer event in
Erie, PA.
Winter Blessing (Photos)
Each year, Shares of God’s Love & volunteers with those who donate to
SOGL minister during our annual Winter Blessing with school
administrators & school staff to provide new warm hats, gloves, scarves,
& coats for elementary school children in need. Last December, an Erie
kindergarten teacher asked her students what they would like for
Christmas. A little girl replied, “One glove.” Her teacher asked,
“Just one glove?” The little girl explained that she has one glove now,
but, two gloves would be so nice! Providing for children in need is why
we have SOGL Winter Blessing each year!!
Scoops for Jesus (Photos)
Each summer, SOGL/Scoops for Jesus events are held at a local church
yard where Erie County grade school children enjoy music DVDs, puppets,
Bible Life Lessons, chalk art, & free ice cream. At the event, we share
the Love of Jesus while afterwards, the host pastors & their volunteers
are discipling the children weekly at their church. Thank you to Irene
Buettner & her team who minister God’s Love via puppets, music, &
powerful illustrated sermons.
Fruits of the Spirit - Community Garden (Photos)
Leaders Doug & Stacey Buettner, their family, & faithful volunteers are
planting, growing, watering, & harvesting on East Gore Road from 16
raised beds of vegetables which are given bi-weekly to Sister Mary & the
Emmaus Food Kitchen for Erie’s families in need. We thank God that In
2016, they harvested 500+ pounds & in 2017 & 400+ pounds of fresh
veggies.
SOGL Erie City Mission Noon Meal Ministry
Team leaders, Victor Dixon & Don Duberow minister God’s Love & His Word
two times a month at ECM noon meal ministry in the mission cafeteria.
